About South Glos Hockey Club...
The club we know today as South Gloucestershire Hockey Club started its life in July 1946 as the Bristol YMCA Hockey Club, and came into being largely through the efforts of Stephen Richardson, a voluntary worker at the Bristol Central YMCA. His spirit lives on today with both the players and members of the South Glos committee.
Memberships
SGHC memberships are available for youth, mens and ladies hockey with a variety of membership options.
Training
Ladies training takes place on a Monday, while mens training takes place on a Tuesday. Our youth section trains on Sunday

Social
This season we are looking to complete socials monthly as we look to keep our reputation as a friendly social club.
Youth Hockey
Our youth section at South Glos Hockey Club is structured to cater to young players, split into two age groups: 5-8 and 8+. Training takes place every Sunday, ensuring a regular opportunity for skill development and camaraderie. The younger group focuses on fundamental skills and fostering a love for the game, while the older group emphasises more advanced techniques and strategic play. Our dedicated coaches provide tailored support to ensure each child reaches their potential, helping them grow both on and off the field.
